Girls Camp 2011

Last week I spent Tuesday thru Friday with the greatest bunch of girls. I have been the camp director for the past 3 years in our ward and each year gets better. This year we left on Tuesday July 5 for the mountains it was nice cause we didn't have to be up there until 2:00 pm so we met at the church at 11:00 am and had brunch and packed up our stuff. I forget how much girls pack but we got it all packed up. We got up to the camp site and started to put up the tents. I must confess this was the first time I have ever put up a tent let alone 4. It took us about 4 hours but we did it. The stake feed us that night so we didn't have to worry about preparing dinner along with putting up the tents. The stake played minute to win it that night it was a lot of fun to see the girls and leaders playing the game.



We got done and headed to our tents when it started to down poor on us so we all turned in early. Wednesday morning came early the stake held a sun rise devotional so at 5:40 am a bag pipe woke us up. I was glad I didn't have to go and wake the girls up. It was so beautiful up there waiting for the sun to come up over the mountains. Right in the middle of the talk from the guest speaker a deer ran right in front of the stage it was so cool. After we got done we let the girls go back to sleep for a couple hours and then got up and got ready for our hikes. I went with the 4th year girls to the Lake I had 2 of my youth leaders with me so we got in a canoe and headed to back to where our picnic tables where.

We were the 2 boat out on the water and one of the last ones to make it there yeah we were slow. While we were paddling we smelt the worst smell ever and there was a dead fish floating by us we could not get away for it and we couldn't stop laughing. It was a lot of fun playing in the water. When we returned after about 5 hours we got to sit around and relax. I let the girls make magnet boards and magnet and then we all painted our nails and got ready for our skit.
Our girls decided to PLANK for there skit I had no idea what that was so they explained it to me. It turned out really cute. Then we went back and started a fire and I made scones for them. After I went with our first year girls snip hunting it is so fun watching them get scared over snipes. It did take me about 45 min to get all the toothpaste off my face. Then we stayed up talking and I think we finally went to bed around 1 or 2. We got up the next morning all sunburned but it was cloud cover most of the day. The girls did crafts with the stake and then we got ready for the bishopric to come. They no more got there when it started to down poor so we ate in our canape and waited for it to stop then headed down for the flag ceremony and a slip show that stake put together it was really nice. We came back and had our testimony meeting it was so great to hear all the girls bare their testimonies. I stayed up with them and talked until about 12 and then went to bed. We got up early and packed up and left to go home about 9 am. I hope all my girls had fun I know that I sure did.

July 4th

I can't believe the 4th is over already this summer is going by so fast. We went down to Moroni for the celebration. My mom and I got up and ran the 5K it was a lot of fun. Then we all got ready and went to the parade in Moroni then Brian Desmond and I headed to Mt Pleasant to watch the parade and have dinner at the Wheelers. It was a lot of fun. Then we went back to my parents house and had another dinner with my family and watched the fireworks. Desmond decided that he wanted to run through the sprinklers at 8:00pm in his clothes and the wind blowing like crazy! He thought it was the best thing ever. He came out and was cold but he loved it non the less.

Zoo

We decided to take Desmond to the zoo this summer cause he loves animals. My parents came up and spent the day with us along with my sister Nicole and her friend. We had a lot of fun

Summer

Its been a while since I have posted. Its been a crazy couple months. Brian is back in school after having a month off it was great to have him home in the mornings with us. Desmond is growing like a weed he suprises me everyday with something new he has learned. So far this summer we have had fun we went to the Living aquarium with my parents little sister and my aunt Mary and cousin Nasha it was fun other then Desmond was sick so he didn't have as much fun as he would have if he felt better.

Brian and I have been able to go golfing a couple times which has been a lot of fun. My sister Nicole and I played in an all night softball tournment and I learned that I am getting old!!! I couldn't move for 3 days after playing but it was a lot of fun. Brian and I decided that we wanted to become more active so we decided to give tennis a try we bought new rackets on Saturday and we are going to play this weekend it should be fun to see how well we do.

Arizona

We took a family vacation last week to Arizona. Brian and I have been thinking about moving down there once he is done with school so we wanted to go down and see what it was like. We left Wednesday morning at 6:30 am for our 12 hour road trip. We let Desmond pick out a new toy on Saturday then hid it from him until we left on Wednesday so that he would have something new to play with on our road trip. He picked out Buzz and Woody of course he played with them the whole way down.

We finally made it down there, it was a long drive but it was nice to spend time with Brian and Desmond. We got to Karole and KC's house at about 6:00 pm then Kae Lynn and Rustin came and we went out to dinner. We stayed at Kae Lynn's and Rustins house for the week it was so nice. They left for a trip of their own so we had the place to our self. On Thursday we got up and dropped Desmond off at Karoles. Brian and I went golfing it was so nice and warm, it was great I got to use my new clubs and wear my new shoes. Brian was in heaven getting to golf for the first time this year!



We then went back to their house had a bar b q and went to bed. We didn't wake up on Friday until 12:30 pm we were tired. We got up got ready and went over to Karol and KC's and took the kids swimming.


After we got cleaned up and ate dinner and watched basketball. On Saturday we got up and went to Braxton and Isaac's flag football games.


We then went to the outside mall had lunch shopped around and let the kids play on the outside play ground. Desmond loved being outside all day. We then went back and all fell asleep watched basketball ate dinner and played games. Perfect ending to our vacation.


We then got up at 6:00 am and headed back to Utah. Desmond got a little creative on how to fall asleep. All and all we are really thinking about moving down to Arizona when Brian is done with school.

Christmas

Christmas this year was so much fun. Desmond was so fun to watch open his prestents. We went down to my parents on christmas eve and got up at 7:00 am. He opened one present and couldn't wait to open the next. The next present he opened was his Toy Story toys we should have saved that for last cause ounce it was opened he didn't want to open any more he just wanted to play with them. We all opened our presents and started making breakfast. My brother Jason and sister in law Mandy came and then my sister Heather and brother in law Cameron and nephew Colton came we ate and them my grandma came. We opened more presents it was so much fun. Then Brian's mom and Jan came to see us. We had so much fun doing nothing all day.

Catch Up

I know it has been a while since I have posted. We have been going through lots of changes in our little family. First Brian started school so he leaves the house at 7:00 am and doesn't get home until after 9:00 pm. I started staying home during he day with Desmond and working at night so I go to work at 8:00 pm and get home at 4:30 am. So I have had no time to do anything. Here is some of what we have been up to.

Each year my family tries to go to Lagoon we went this year in September it was a lot of fun to go as a family and ride the rides. Desmond loved going on the Mary go round.

My littel sister Heather got married in October it was very pretty and she made a beautiful bride. It was so fun going with her to pick out her dress.


Halloween 2010 we dressed Desmond up as a Dragon the cutest one ever. My parents came up and took us to dinner and then we took Desmond out to a couple of our neighbors to go trick or treating. It was so much fun.

Thanksgiving this year we spent it at my parents house. Desmond loved his food so much he mixed it all together. Lets just say my mom made us put bags all around him so that food wouldn't get all over her floor. Its a good thing she did cause he got it all over the bags.

Desmond's Birthday

I can't believe my baby is a year old. Where did the last 12 months go. He is so big and he just gets cuter by the day. We decided to throw him a BIG party for his 1st birthday with our family and friends it was so much fun. Desmond love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so we based his party on that. My amazing sister in law Mandy made him an amazing cakes they were so cute I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate her for doing it for us. We decided to have a BBQ and thanks to the Munson's they made it possible letting us use their back yard. We let Desmond have his own cake he ate it like a little princess he wouldn't dig in. After a while he did start to eat it.

Yesterday we took Desmond to get his pictures taken at Sears they turned out so cute I just had to share them with everyone.

24th Weekend

This was Desmond's first 24th we had so much fun. B and I had Friday off so we slept in late and then got ready and headed down to Sanpete. My dad was mowing the lawn and Desmond was fascinated with the riding lawn mower so we let him go on a ride with grandpa and he loved every minute of it.

Then Brian, Tyler and I got up super early on Saturday like 5:00 am to go golfing the way I played I should have stayed in bed. Then we came home got ready and headed to the Fairview parade there was so many people there. We then headed up to the Jorgensen's cabin up Fairview canyon it was so fun to see everyone and to be up the in beautiful mountains with family and friends. We then headed back to Betty and Jan's and let Desmond and Whitney swim it was so fun to watch them. Looking at the pictures you would think that they are the same age but no Desmond it 5 month younger.

Then we hung out and relaxed until Brian and I had to go get Nicole from Fairview. Well on our way there we were about a mile outside of Fairview and we hit a deer are whole front of our car is wrecked and we told Nicole that it was all her fault. It was so scary and funny at the same time cause the weekend before on our way down to my parents house we about hit a deer. Brian swerved to miss it so we said it was our final destination we cheated hitting that one so that's why we hit this one. We then slept in and headed back up home on Sunday.
